As Jodie is local to Alford, she felt this was a great place to open her first shop and studio.  Jodie went to school in the area, Keig Primary and thereafter Alford Academy, and of course art was her best subject!!!!  Jodie is now a mainly self taught artist working mainly in Watercolour and Bic Biro Pen doing human and animal portraits.
After leaving her offshore job nearly 4 years ago, Jodie is happy to say that  things have worked out for the best and has enjoyed being a self employed artist for approximately 4 years now!!  It was another big decision to open the shop and studio, as it was always something she wanted to do, Jodie  was lucky when the shop became available early 2016.  With the help of very supportive family and friends the shop open on the 30th of April 2016.
Jodie felt she needed a studio space to work in  and  somewhere for people to come and see her work in person. Jodie then had the idea to help out and include other local crafters/artists/makers renting them space at very reasonable rates to sell and showcase their works in the Alford area, this helps Jodie pay her rent and bills for the shop, as we all know Artists are not exactly rich haha.   After inviting many people she had met over the years at different shows to stock in the shop, the shop was born, jam packed full of beautiful affordable things, something for everyones tastes, needs and budget.  Jodie's other half Kenny specialises in hand sculpted Elm Burr bowls, and also works in many different types of native and exotic woods, creating, spoons, clocks, walking sticks, candleholders, plaques and much much more..........

To the right you can see some of Jodie's most popular works done in Biro and Watercolour.
